Outstanding performance by the players on the third day of the 88th Billiards and Snooker National Championship hosted by Sage University, Bhopal.

Bhopal: Billiards and snooker are becoming very popular among the youth in our country. The Sports Department and the Federation are constantly striving to promote this sport. Sage Group organizes many events and competitions to engage the youth in sports along with the future-ready academic facilities. The 88th Sage Billiards and Snooker Nationals 2021 started today hosted by Sage University Bhopal. The tournament is organized by the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI), MP Billiards and Snooker Association from Madhya Pradesh, and Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh are partners in this event. This tournament started on 24 November 2021 and will run till 29 December 2021. Over 1000 national and state players will compete for 18 titles in the tournament. SAGE University Bhopal invites everyone to witness such a grand tournament and encourage participants to play their best!

Telangana’s youngster Dhruv Sinh entered the next round with a scintillating performance by winning two matches on the third day of the championship. In his first victory, Dhruv defeated Madhya Pradesh player N. Choudhary in a very contested match. In this match of Best of Seven Frames, both the players were tied 2-2 in the Frames table for four frames. After this, both the players won 1-1 frame and 3-3 equals. Displaying solid concentration and graceful style in the deciding seventh frame, Choudhary did not let one go and won the match by winning the frame. In his second match, Dhruv Sinh faced Shah Aluf of Kerala, and Dhruv immediately took a 3-1 lead, maintaining the momentum of the first match. But Shah Aluf tried to return by doing the fifth frame in his favor. But like in the first match, when the need arose, Dhruv played carefully, increasing the star of his concentration and winning the sixth frame and winning the match also turned the match in his favor. The match scores in Dhruv’s first match were 30-13, 23-31,05-42,35-18, 01-40, 42-47, and 40-06 points in his favor. In the second match which Dhruv won, his score was 47-39, 32-28, 05-33, 45-00, 04-47, and 33-23 points in his favor. The students of SAGE University encouraged the players by being thrilled and inspired by them. Although on one hand Shah Aluf lost a match, on the other hand, his fellow Kerala player Marshad showed attractive potting to Madhya Pradesh player Vipul Ambekar 41-12, 29-06, 13-48, 13-48, 00-38, 34-12, and defeated by 28-20 points. Another player from Telangana V Sanjay also performed an excellent game on this day. He played Uttarakhand player Saksham Gyrola in an exciting match that lasted for seven frames. Defeated by 36-25, 35-47, 38-11, 01-37, 00-45, 36-29, and 40-29 marks. Digvijay Kadia, the shining star of snooker from Haryana, also displayed his amazing style and won the two matches playing confidently. In the first match, Digvijay defeated Kerala player M Midhun by 20-33, 47-08, 04-72, 45-08, 64-00, and 38-16, in which the winner scored 64 points in the fifth frame. Also applied a solid brake. Whereas in his second match, Digvijay defeated Manish Khaporde of Madhya Pradesh by 50-00, 47-03, 48-15, and 48-12 points and did not give his competitor in the entire match. In another match, Punjab’s Rishi Khosla defeated Assam’s Sumit Sridhar by 4-3 frames in a fierce battle to enter the next round. Scores in favor of Rishi were 34-21, 32-24, 15-43, 13-39, 22-30, 22-14, and 42-25. Gangadhar of Andhra entered the next round by defeating Kankanala of Telangana 35-09, 49-20, 43-15, 07-51, 26-33, 18-38, and 51-12 in another match. Altogether, 52 matches were played today, which thrilled all the spectators and the students of SAGE University, indicating that in the coming days, the popularity of this game will reach every youth of the country.
