Move over Manisha Vascon 2020 National billiards & snooker chapionship Pune.
It is time for the Casa Coopenhagen 2020 six red snooker nationals jointly organized by the Gujarat State Billiards Association & the Sports Club Gujarat under the auspices of the Billiards & Snooker Federation Of India at the Sports club of Gujarat complex in Ahmedabad.
Eight tables, four Wiraka’s and four Sharma S 1 are ready for the 13 days snooker action in the shorter format of the game of snooker at the improvised billiards room and the Badminton Hall here.
The show begins today at 10 am with the inaugural ceremony slated for 9 am for what promises to be splendid exhibition of snooker skills of the leading Men and Ladies of Indian Cue Sports.
The venue has been magnificently spruced up with quite a spacious gallery in both the halls ready for the exquisite dance of the six reds and colored balls of snooker.
The competition starts with the double elimination qualifying rounds till the 4 th March, 2020 with the main draw in the Men’s category and the Ladies event commencing on the 5 th of March before the curtain comes down on the 11 th of March, 2020.
Sixteen referees from all over the country besides the stastical expert, Prakash Mehrotra and Ajay Rastogi as the Chief Referee combine to ensure that the 13 day snooker super show runs without a glitch.
And do not make the mistake of underestimating the prowess of these eighteen Gentleman, all dressed up in their Blazers, formal trousers, bow and tie to give the proceedings a look of authority and efficiency. They are the ones who make this splendid show look ridiculously easy.
A word of heartfelt appreciation for the magnificent sponsors, the managerial attributes of the people behind the curtain who have made this event possible and a big thank you to Amit Sharma and his dedicated band of workers who have readied the billiards tables in record time.
Certainly, it is going to be a treat for all the lovers of cue sports in the capital city of Gujarat.
All are welcome to witness the intense battles and exciting matches which are in store for the spectators from 28 th February till 11 th March this year.
